Troubadour Presents : Dead Meadow
Thu. 02/14 | 8:00PM
2013 has a serious case of the 1967’s.
The unabashed revival of psychedelic rock has been the indie weapon of choice this year, and to wide acclaim. Foxygen and Unknown Mortal Orchestra dusted off vintage productions in 2013 and will be offering up their dose neo-psychadelia one day later at The Echoplex. So what better time than now for L.A. natives Dead Meadow to roll through our fair town? The date is the second stop of a Californian mini tour that features friends Strangers Family Band and Matthew J. Tow.
This marks a particularly exciting time for the Matador alums. New full length Warble Womp is their first studio work since 2008, and they welcome back original drummer Mark Laughlin after a 10 year musical break. These gentlemen bring it a bit fuzzier than their contemporaries and if the new material is anything like new single, “Mr. Chesty” , we can expect equal parts stoner-rock riffs and catchy hooks. We’ll meet you right here after the show, so don’t get too baked to remember where you are. Got it? Here’s a map, dude.
